Intelligence Quotient World · a culture-fair self-insight index · not normed · entertainment, illustrative

A self-insight index designed to travel across cultures, not just one country’s assumptions.

Most quick online IQ quizzes quietly assume one country’s classroom vocabulary and one language’s idioms. Intelligence Quotient World starts from a different design goal: items built on pattern, shape, logic, and quantity rather than one culture’s words or trivia, so a player’s own background is not the thing being measured. We say this plainly up front: “culture-fair” describes what we are designing toward, illustratively -- not a completed, validated, population-representative cross-cultural norm. This is entertainment and personal self-reflection, never a clinical or diagnostic instrument.

The age gate on the taker is live today (13+ by product policy, using a self-attested date of birth). It is one data-minimization control, not a COPPA certification. The adaptive engine behind it is honest-off until its public endpoints go live -- see “What is live today” below.

An entertainment index, aimed at a global player -- not a clinical instrument

Intelligence Quotient World is short, adaptive puzzle rounds that resolve to a plain 0-100 self-insight index. It is built for fun and personal reflection, aimed openly at a worldwide player base rather than one country’s classroom -- not as a professional or clinical evaluation of anyone’s intelligence, and not a substitute for an evaluation by a licensed psychologist.

It is not a validated, standardized, or clinically normed intelligence-quotient score. It is not used for placement, diagnosis, gifted identification, employment, or any immigration or citizenship decision, for anyone, anywhere. The name carries the words “Intelligence Quotient” because that is the familiar shorthand for this puzzle style; the product behind it is an entertainment self-insight game, described honestly, top to bottom.

How items are designed to travel

A word-association puzzle or a trivia question travels badly: it leans on a specific language’s idioms or one country’s shared references, so it quietly measures familiarity with a culture as much as anything else. Our item design leans the other way on purpose -- toward formats that do not depend on any one language or cultural background to attempt fairly. That is the design goal this page describes; it is illustrative of the direction we are building in, not a claim that a population-representative norming study has already validated the result.

Visual pattern completion

Find the shape, rotation, or sequence that completes a visual grid. No vocabulary, no idiom, no reading comprehension required to attempt it.

Abstract logical sequences

What comes next in a sequence of shapes, symbols, or positions. The rule is embedded in the sequence itself, not in outside general knowledge.

Number and quantity relationships

Short numeric-reasoning items using plain digits and quantities -- arithmetic notation reads the same regardless of the player’s spoken language.

Short visual memory rounds

Recall a brief sequence of positions or shapes just shown. Memory for a visual layout does not require a shared vocabulary either.

What this design goal does NOT mean: it does not mean a norming study across countries and languages has been run, and it does not mean the index is already validated as culture-fair in the clinical, published-research sense of that term. We are honest that this is where we are aiming, not a certification we are claiming to hold.

How the adaptive difficulty works

Each round starts at a middle difficulty. A correct answer steps the next item a notch harder; a missed answer steps it a notch easier -- a plain, deterministic correct-harder / incorrect-easier rule over an authored difficulty ladder, not a large language model deciding your next item or grading your answer. Item difficulty is what moves; the round never reveals a running score mid-session.

A 0-100 self-insight index -- not an IQ score

A finished round resolves to a plain 0-100 self-insight index. That number is server-computed once the public engine is live, never fabricated or guessed client-side, and it is deliberately NOT the familiar mean-100/standard-deviation-15 IQ scale, so it is never mistaken for a validated psychometric score. It reflects one playful round, on one day, in one puzzle mix -- a snapshot, not a stable trait measurement.

An anonymous global distribution band -- opt-in, adults only, never an exact count

Once a round is complete, an adult player (never a minor -- the comparison is never even offered to one) can opt in to see one coarse, anonymous line: “you scored higher than approximately X% of players worldwide.” That is the entire artifact -- no names, no ranking table, and no exact player count is ever shown. The percentile itself is bucketed to the nearest 5, never a faux-precise decimal.

The comparison is suppressed -- reading “not enough players have taken this yet to show a comparison” -- until the worldwide cohort behind it reaches at least 1,000 players. Below that floor, a real percentile would risk re-identifying a small group of people, so nothing is shown rather than something approximate. This is the same honest k-anonymity floor used across the platform’s other public comparison surfaces, not a looser rule invented for a global framing.

Today, this whole feature reads as honest-off (“not available yet”) because no anonymized worldwide aggregate exists yet behind it -- see “What is live today” below.

Original items, written in-house

Every item in Intelligence Quotient World is original: written in-house by our own authors for this product. The items are uncalibrated and not norm-referenced -- none has been tried out on a reference sample. No item is scraped, licensed, or adapted from any outside question bank, and no item is derived from or built to resemble any published or commercial intelligence assessment. Nothing here carries anyone else’s copyrighted test content.

Who can play -- the honest age gate

Before anything else, the taker asks a self-attested date of birth -- not a yes/no checkbox. Under this product's 13+ policy, a player who is under 13 is blocked, fail-closed. COPPA governs online collection from children under 13; this age gate is one data-minimization control, not a certification or substitute for a parental-notice and consent analysis. There is no retry loop that hints at the cutoff: the taker shows one honest, terminal “not available for you” card and discards the entered date without sending it anywhere. Only an eligible (13+) date of birth ever starts a session, and the server independently re-checks the same rule before serving anything -- the client gate is a courtesy and a privacy measure, never the actual security boundary.

We ask for a date of birth only to check age: no name, no email, and the date itself is never saved once you leave the page.

Common questions

Is this a real, validated global IQ test?

No. It is entertainment: short, adaptive puzzle rounds that resolve to a for-fun 0-100 self-insight index. “Culture-fair” describes a design goal for how the items are built, illustratively -- not a completed, validated, population-representative cross-cultural norming study. We say this in several places on this page on purpose.

What does 'culture-fair' actually mean on this page?

It means the item formats -- visual pattern completion, abstract sequences, number and quantity relationships, short visual memory rounds -- are chosen because they do not depend on one language’s vocabulary or one country’s trivia to attempt fairly. It is a design intent we are building toward, not a certification that a norming study has already proven.

Can I take the free index right now?

The taker page and its age gate are live. What happens after the age gate -- actually running a round and computing a score -- is honest-off until our two public backend endpoints go live; until then the taker shows its own honest “not available yet” state. We would rather say that plainly than pretend a score is waiting for you today.

Can I compare my score to players in other countries?

Only anonymously, only if you opt in, only if you are an adult, and only once at least 1,000 players worldwide have played -- a k-anonymity floor. Below that, or before you opt in, the comparison reads “not enough players yet.” There is never an exact player count and never a named ranking table, and this whole feature is honest-off today because the worldwide aggregate it needs does not exist yet.

Who can play? What about kids?

The taker asks a self-attested date of birth before anything else. Under this product's 13+ policy, anyone under 13 is blocked, fail-closed. COPPA governs online collection from children under 13; the gate is one data-minimization control, not a certification or compliance guarantee. There is a single honest “not available for you” message and no retry loop -- the entered date is discarded, never sent anywhere for an ineligible date. Only a name/email-free date-of-birth check is asked; nothing else personal is requested.

Where do the puzzle items come from?

Every item is original, written in-house by our own authors for this product. No item is scraped, licensed, or adapted from any outside question bank or published test. The items are uncalibrated and not norm-referenced: none has been tried out on a reference sample.

Does it cost anything?

Money is honest-off on this page: no pricing, no checkout, no card charged, no subscription. If we ever price anything, it will be stated plainly, not implied.

What is live today, and what is honestly not

LIVE TODAY: the public taker’s self-attested-DOB, fail-closed age gate (13+ by product policy; not a COPPA certification). NOT YET LIVE: the two backend routes the taker calls to actually run a round and compute a score -- until they exist, the taker itself shows an honest “the free index isn’t available yet” state to anyone who clears the age gate, and this page never implies otherwise. The anonymous worldwide comparison band is real, tested code gated at a 1,000-player k-anonymity floor, but its own backend aggregate does not exist yet either, so it also reads honest-off today. “Culture-fair” describes a design goal for how items are built, illustratively -- never a claim that a population-representative cross-cultural norming study has been completed. Every item is original and written in-house; none is scraped, licensed, or adapted from any outside question bank or published test.
